Who are we?

Centre for Psychology is a community of professionally qualified staff whose ambition is to promote psychological well-being and reduce psychological distress.

We can provide a wide range of psychological interventions across the life span and we engage in research to develop new applied models to meet these aims.

We work with individuals and also with organisations that are seeking to maintain and enhance their psychological well-being. Health Education England fund us to train future generations of highly qualified staff in partnership with the University of Surrey.

How can we help?

Within Surrey, the NHS primarily funds CBT which involves identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours in order to change the way we think, feel and act. CBT can help with a number of common difficulties such as depression and anxiety. A more extensive list of the mental health problems and long term health conditions we offer therapy for is here.

We also partner with Richmond Fellowship to provide an Employment Support service which again is important to psychological well-being for many people.

Navigating through the maze of services available can be confusing. Contact us for your personal requirements.

Our services can be provided on an in-person basis, via videoconferencing or telephone. We provide all the necessary psychological materials needed either digitally or by post.

Sexual Assault Recovery Centre (SARC)

Centre for Psychology has been funded to provide psychological therapy for people who have recently (within 6 months) experienced sexual violence or sexual assault within Surrey (except Farnham). You can refer yourself here.

Professional referrals can also be made through the professional online referral form.
